Training is progressing well, and things are humming along at the Gap. Training is now in full swing, and the cadets have become more confident and have learned many new things. You can expect that your son or daughter will come home a more organized, better disciplined young person - at least for a while! Some pictures are now loaded on the website. I hope to add more as we go along. Just click on the link to your left. Please remember that only letters will be delivered to your recruit. Candy, gum, and the like are not permitted and will be confiscated Graduation will be held at 1000 on 09 July in the field near the parking lot we used for check-in. Signs will be posted to help direct you for parking. NO bleachers are available, so parents should plan to bring lawn chairs if they wish to be seated. There are NO toilet facilities, so it is also advised that a rest stop be made before you arrive for graduation. A check-out procedure will be in place, so please be patient for departure. All cadets will be released to a responsible adult who will have to sign for them. Cadets will have to sign for their seabags. Service records will only be released to unit COs, training command officers, or those who have written letters from the unit Commanding Officer. Please do not expect to call the unit CO and have him or her authorize release of the records verbally. We also do not have a fax machine. Authorization must be in writing and presented at the time if we do not already have it. We hope to make this process as quick and easy as possible, which will only happen with the cooperation of all. Please be aware that parents, COs, and others are not to come to the recruit training area. We will be very busy trying to get everything organized for the graduation itself. The staff of RTC 2011 is looking forward to seeing all of you on Saturday and presenting you with a Recruit Training graduate! It will be a proud day for all. |
